Please check the deadline date before you add entries – if you add events after the deadline, they won’t go into the magazine’s diary or the Sawston email. If you need to add or amend events after the magazine deadline, contact the Sawston email.
The diary deadline is a week after the copy deadline, and you’ll find the copy deadline on the page Guidelines for contributors and on page 4 of the current issue of the magazine. (Where do I find the magazine?) The deadline is usually a Friday, and we build the diary page on the Saturday, then proof and go to press on the Sunday.
But you can add entries as much before the date as you like; for example, in January you could enter dates for June events, and they'll go into the June–July issue.
Please take a look at a back issue (kept in Sawston Library, or ask a team member for one) to see how little space we have! The shorter you can keep your entry, the better.
Events in the diary should be for everyone: not just members of a club, for example. So school fetes, but not a year 3 parents’ meeting. No need to put 'Everyone welcome' – but if they're not, maybe it shouldn't go in the Diary.
